ADULTS: Why would there be adults for adoption?:
1-The adults on this page are rats born here at the rattery, and have never found a home yet.
OR
2-I kept a baby rat in hopes of breeding him/her, but them plans changed and I decided to go a different route.
OR
3- Rats are returned to me because the adopter can no longer take care of them, due to allergies or unexpected life changes.

History: These two rats were born here at The Groomed Rattery. They are very well tempered, and are very nice. They come from very good lines, stemming from other Utah and Colorado ratterys. Yet they were born during a hectic time, where I the breeder had to move out of our home and also go on maturity leave which left limited time. They were also held for an adopter for a few months until these two rats got their first home. Because of their bumpy start they would do best in a home that will love them and play with them often. The Adopter doesn’t have time to devote the attention they need, and later found out they have allergy’s toward them. These rats are healthy but we feel they should go to a home with no other rats, because of a chance of MYCO. We are uncertain if this is the case, but the adopter informed me they may have been around it. I had these rats for the first three months of their life and they were very kind, healthy, and very good with my kids. They are shy and never ran to the opening of the cage, but when they were picked up they were good and liked being out. The adopter has had them for the past two month and that’s were they are today. To adopt a rat you must fill out the “Adoption Form“
